Recent Gallup polls show issues and concerns about race relations are at their highest since 2001 when the poll began. The Pew Research Center found a “growing share of the public view racism as a big problem.” Bias, prejudice, and racism take on many forms including conscious and unconscious, direct and indirect. Several sources have put the cost of racial inequity through lost earnings, avoidable public expenditures, and lost economic output at a cost of trillions to the U.S. economy. This does not include racial extremist acts of violence. Racial violence frays at the very fabric of a civilized society and is one of the highest yield interventions to maintain a stable society.
